Description
This procurement is a HUBZone Business Set-Aside. All responsible HUBZone Business Concerns may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the U.S. Coast Guard. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about August 16, 2006, at http://www/eps/gov/. Please sign up for the Auto Notification Service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. THIS COMMERCIAL ITEM REQUIREMENT IS SET-ASIDE FOR HUBZone BUSINESS CONCERNS AND WILL BE EVALUATED USING PAST PERFORMANCE AS THE MOST IMPORTANT EVALUATION FACTOR. The USCGC DUMMOND homeport is located in Key West, FL. The vessel is an 110 Foot “B” Class Patrol Boat. Vessel’s availability schedule is for ninty (90) calendar days, starting October 23, 2006. The place of performance will be at the contractor’s facility. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to drydock and repair the USCGC DRUMMOND (WPB-1323) including the following Base items: This work will include, but is not limited to: Welding Repairs; Preserve Oily water tank; Renew, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts; Inspect Bronze Sleeves in Various Areas; Renew Water-Lubricated Propeller Shaft Bearings; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers; Clean and inspect heat exchangers; Renew Sea Strainers; Renew anchor capstan; Perform RHI crane maintenance; Preserve Forepeak compartment; Preserve Freeboard; Preserve Weather decks; Renew shower stalls; Preserve Transducer Hull Rings; Overhaul Vaneaxial Fan and Motor Assemblies; Clean Sewage and Grey Water System Piping; Repair Sewage System Piping; Renew Valves; Overhaul and Test Fuel Manifold Valves; Renew Sea Strainers; Overhaul Steering Gear Components; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies; Overhaul Hydraulic Power Unit; Overhaul Stabilizing Fin Hydraulic System; Clean and Test Hydraulic Oil Cooler; Overhaul Stabilizing Fins; Preserve Superstructure; Preserve Underwater Body; Preserve Freeboard; Preserve Bilge Areas Below Fin Stabilizers; Inspect and Maintain Cathodic Protection System; Renew Capastic Fairing; Provide Temporary Logistics; Routine Drydocking; Inspect and Repair Areas in Aft Steering Compartment; Install Stern Flap; Install limber holes in Skeg Top; Install new life rafts; Install new search light; Install new Autopilot: Replace Reverse Osmosis Water Maker; Renew and Realign Reduction Gear Assemblies; Provide Dining and Lodging.. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For information concerning this acquisition contact the Contracting Official listed above.
