- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Phase 3 Replacement of Air Handling Units serving the Headquarters Building M6-399 at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The work consists of demolition of existing air handling units, including but not limited to, piping, ductwork, controls, electrical power, lighting, removal and reinstallation of fixed exterior building panels, windows and providing building openings as may be necessary to execute the work; Asbestos abatement; Providing temporary air conditioning to include sources of power, controls, cooling, heating, filtering and air distribution; Phased installation of new air handling units, piping, ductwork, electrical power, lights, insulation, pumps, controls including integration with KCCS, commissioning and testing, adjustment and balance of systems. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $1M and $5M and the effort shall be completed within 438 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 236210 and $28.5M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about October 27, 2006 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about November 27, 2006. The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the RFP. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office 321-867-2851 POC: James Matrazzo. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
