- Description
- The contractor shall furnish all of the necessary equipment, labor, supplies and supervision for the design and replacement of the existing buried piping system, backfill the excavation, and repair all disturbed concrete, stone, asphalt, and turf. Work is to be performed at 10th Street N.W. between Pennsylvania Avenue to the steam tunnel at Constitution Avenue for a length of approximately 900 feet. The existing lines are part of a pre-insulated direct buried conduit piping system located approximately 8 to 10 feet deep. The contractor shall install new 12-inch steam, 6- inch pumped condensate, and 2 ˝-inch high pressure trap return lines as well as new manholes (if new route is chosen), anchors and other associated equipment for these lines. The contractor shall also install new anchors, pipe rollers, supports, guides, expansion joints, trap stations, and other miscellaneous fittings in the manholes with new equipment for these lines. With prior approval by the government, the contractor may install the buried piping in another manner other than excavating the entire length of the project. The estimated cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The NAICS code is 237110 and is open to small and large size business. The solicitation will be issued on/about August 14, 2006 and the due date will be on or about September 14, 2006. GSA will issue this solicitation electronically.
