- NASA/GRC has a requirement for: OEM 532 NM MODULE - (Quantity required: 2 each) Oz Optics part number: 27360 - OZ-2000-532-3.5/125-S-40-3S-3A-1-20 20Pigtail style, self-contained thermally stabilized OEM 532, 18-20mW fiber coupled source module The output fiber is 3.5/125 micron singlemode, 1m long, 3mm OD armour cabled fiber terminated with a Super FC/PC connector Electrical connections are located in the rear panel OEM 405NM MODULE - (Quantity required: 2 each) Oz Optics part number: OZ-2000-405-3/125-S-40-3S-3A-1-30 Pigtail styled, self-contained thermally stabilized OEM 405nm, 27-30mW fiber coupled source module The output fiber is 3/125 micron SM, 1m long, with 3 mm armoured fiber terminated with a super FC/PC connector. OEM FABRY PEROT 635NM - (Quantity required: 2 each) Oz Optics part number: OZ-2000-635-4/125-S-40-3S-3A-1-20 Pigtail styled, self-contained thermally stabilized OEM Fabry Perot 635NM+/-5nm, 18-20mW fiber coupled source module. The output fiber is 4/125 ?m SM, 1m long, 3 mm OD black armour cabled fiber terminated with a Super FC/PC connector Electrical connections are located in the rear panel OEM FABRY PEROT 780NM - (Quantity required: 2 each) Oz Optics part number: OZ-2000-780-5/125-S-40-3S-3A-1-25 Pigtail styled, self-contained thermally stabilized OEM Fabry Perot 780nm+/-10nm, 25mW fiber coupled source module. The output fiber is 5/125 ?m SM, 1m long, 3 mm OD black armour cabled fiber terminated with a Super FC/PC connector Electrical connections are located in the rear panel OEM FABRY PEROT 980NM - (Quantity required: 2 each) Oz Optics part number: OZ-2000-980-6/125-S-40-3S-3A-1-100 Pigtail styled, self-contained thermally stabilized OEM Fabry Perot 980nm+/-5nm, 100mW fiber coupled source module. The output fiber is 6/125 ?m SM, 1m long, 3 mm OD black armour cabled fiber terminated with a Super FC/PC connector Electrical connections are located in the rear panel POWER SUPPLY 30 WATTS - (Quantity required: 2 each) Oz Optics part number: 11147 AC-5VDC-NA Power Supply, 30 Watts, 5V Output, 4A.w/iec power cord to North American Plug For fault locator and fiber optic stable source. CONTROL BOX - (Quantity required: 2 each) Oz Optics part number: 22534 OZ-X000-CTRL-BOX Control box to allow OZ ? 1000/2000OEM source to be used as a benchtop source NASA/GRC intends to purchase these items from Oz Optics. This recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available from only one source. Competition is impractical for the following reasons: The required components are direct replacement parts. For repeatability of data collection for comparison purposes these modules must be completely compatible with existing components. Drawings and specifications sufficient for competition are not available. Therefore it would be the best interest of the government to purchase directly from Oz Optics. Pursuant to NFS 1805.207 and 1804.570, this proposed contract action will be published on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) and pursuant to FAR 5.201, this proposed contract action will be synopsized in the Commerce Business Daily. The results received in writing will be added to this document by addendum. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on October 20, 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B". Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs linked below.
