- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center, has a requirement for monthly reports with associated electronic data from shallow wells and piezometers installed in wetlands in Sheridan County, Montana. Each report shall include the following data elements: 1. Description of stratigraphy including standard USDA-NRCS field soil descriptions (e.g., texture, color, stoniness, wetness, etc.) and GPS locations for each well installed that month. 1. Depth to groundwater/surface water collected either weekly via hand measurement, or continuously (electronically) via capacitance rods (the latter to be supplied by USGS, as available) and downloaded bi-monthly for all wells and piezometers in place. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 5.302-1, the Government considers the item specified as a sole source from Sheridan County Conservation District, 119 North Jackson, Plentywood, MT 59254 and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and supplies are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business October 19, 2006 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time.
