- Notice of Contract Action for a Sole Source Procurement SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR GRIDGEN SOFTWARE WITH RIGHTS TO USE PERPETUAL LICENSE WITH 12 MONTHS OF SERVICE TO POINTWISE, INC. Edwards Air Force Base, CA intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to Pointwise, Inc., 213 South Jennings Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104-1107. The Sole Source purchase will be for the following: **Gridgen software right to use perpetual license with 12 months of maintenance included. DELIVERED VIA EMAIL TO AIR FORCE RESEARCH LAB, EDWARDS AFB, CA **1. Description of Item: Software that allows the creation of grids around the various components of the rocket engine which are modeled numerically. Gridgen is unique in that it generates structured hex, unstructured tet and hybrid meshes on Computer Aided Design (CAD) data imported from its native files and without repair. **Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the software as detailed above. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by Close of Business (COB), 19 October 06, a Sole Source purchase order will be pursued with Pointwise, Inc., 213 South Jennings Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104-1107.
