- This is for informational purposes only. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order with Press Association Inc in New York, NY. The vendor shall furnish a subscription renewal for AP Health Topic Report; AP Environmental Topic Report; AP Photo Archive ; AP Alert Services, AP Alert/Medical and AP Alert Environmental. Associated Press is a unique news resource that is not provided by any other single organization. It is the largest news gathering organization in the United States. They provide news service on a real time basis throughout the day and with an electronic search engine that will allow CDC health professionals to efficiently search news wires for new reports of disease outbreaks. The news service will effectively identify threats to the public health and allow CDC programs, and state and local health departments to quickly respond to them. It is believed that services procured from this vendor meets the minimum needs of the Government and no other source for these services is known at this time. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.320-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies are services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
