- Background: The Office of Advocacy is charged with documenting business ownership statistics for various owner demographics, including minorities, women, veterans, and service-disabled veterans. Over the years, we have conducted a variety of studies on this subject. For example, see http://www.sba.gov/advo/research/demographic.html. The Office of Advocacy is interested in expanding its knowledge in this area with a research project that would examine issues related to business ownership and owner demographics. Various data sources might be used, including the Survey of Business Owners, the Current Population Survey, Statistics of Income, and others. It would also be of interest to examine barriers that might prevent these groups from starting or growing their businesses? Why, for instance, do some groups lag behind their peers in terms of business ownership, or conversely, why are other groups more successful? How does this affect the economic well-being of such groups? Questions and answers for this procurement shall commence on July 10, 2006 and end on July 14, 2006. No questions after July 14, 2006.
