Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) intends to sole source award to Municipality of Lajas for restoration work at the Laguna Cartagena NWR and adjacent lands. Work to include replacement of the existing water control structure, which was built by the Municipality of Lajas through a Challenge Cost Share Agreement with FWS and is located on municipal land. Other work items to include dredging of the canal; concrete culverts; and the extension and excavation of canals to improve flow into the lagoon and reduce flooding on adjacent farms and in an adjacent community. The proposed contract action is for construction for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpoe of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
