Description
Services of an Architectural or Engineering firm with specialized experience in design and construction of primary care and outpatient clinic spaces in a 24/7 healthcare and medical environment, to participate in site investigation, design, preparation of working drawings/construction documents, and construction period services for Project 596-07-111, RENOVATE B-16-1 FOR PC CLINICS, LD, at VA Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Project involves renovation of existing finishes and utilities to convert space from nursing home space to primary care outpatient examination space. Project will involve reorienting and resizing rooms for use as exam rooms and associated waiting spaces, staff work areas, procedure rooms, etc., and modifying utilities as needed to accomplish the renovations. Estimated construction cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. Project will be accomplished in AutoCad .dwg format; specifications will be accomplished in Microsoft Word .doc format. Area of consideration is restricted to firms located within a 100 miles radius of VAMC, Lexington, KY and is set-aside 100% for EMERGING SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS, in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. An emerging small business is a small business concern whose size is no greater than 50% of the numerical size standard of $4.5 million for NAICS 541310. (Small Emerging threshold is $2.25 million). North American Industry Classification (NAICS) No. 541330, with a size standard of $4.5 million is applicable. Interested firms, with required specialization, must submit three (3) copies of Standard Form 330, Architect-Engineer qualifications, to the issuing office no later than 2:00 p.m. EST October 23, 2006. (Fed-ex or hand-carried submissions to be delivered to VA Medical Center, Attn: Angie Napier (90C), Bldg. 2, Rm. 206, 2250 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY 40511). Respondents will be reviewed on the basis of: professional qualifications; specialized experience and technical competence in projects of similar type; capacity to accomplish the work in the required timeframe; past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry for projects of similar type; team proposed for this project; previous experience of proposed team; project control (design schedule control and quality assurance reviews of submission documents); and estimating effectiveness. This is NOT a Request for Proposals. No solicitation package will be issued.
