Description
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and the United States Air Force 45 Space Wing (45 SW) are in the initial planning phase for procuring operations support. The work is currently encompassed in the Joint Base Operations Support Contract (J-BOSC), the Kennedy Integrated Communications Services (KICS) contract, and the Life Science Services Contract (LSSC). These contracts currently support both NASA and the 45 SW. NASA and the 45 SW plan to de-bundle the services contained within JBOSC for the follow-on competitions. The current contracts will run through completion and will not be affected. J-BOSC and KICS will expire on September 30, 2008 and LSSC will expire on September 30, 2009. A joint NASA/45 SW industry day is anticipated to be conducted later this fall. NASA and the 45 SW will seek industry input regarding our approach including the proposed construct of the multiple contracts and the division of services among them. Preliminarily we anticipate 18 contracts for the following functions: NASA Protective Services Air Force Security Air Force Fire and Emergency Preparedness NASA Infrastructure O&M Air Force Infrastructure O&M Medical/Environmental IT & Communications Custodial Logistics Propellants and Life Support Mail Technical Training Airfield Services Laboratories Grounds Refuse Disposal Vehicle Ops Facility Modifications NASA and the 45 SW will continue their long history of cooperation in the majority of these areas. No solicitation exists at this time; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. It is the responsibility of prospective offeror?s to monitor the Internet site for the release of additional information regarding the combined industry day.
