Description
The purpose of this Public Announcement is to provide copies of draft Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) specifications for industry review/comment and to announce a 3rd Industry Day occurring on October 27, 2006. This is the 5th ADS-B Public Announcement. Previous ADS-B announcements may be accessed at: http://www.faa.gov, about FAA, contract opportunities, current announcements, by keyword (ADS-B), include archived, find. The following ADS-B draft specifications are attached to this announcement. 1. Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B)/ADS-B Rebroadcast (ADS-R) Critical Services Specification. Version 0.30 dated 21 Sept ember 2006. 2. Traffic Information Service -Broadcast (TIS-B)/Flight Information Service - Broadcast (FIS-B) Uplink Broadcast Services Specification. Version 0.30 dated 21 September 2006. The files are zip files and need to be opened with a Zip program. The attached forms are provided for industry specification comment. Comments are requested to be submitted to Steve Manley by COB October 27, 2006 via the following methods: 1. Direct Delivery at the October 27 Industry Day. 2. E-mail to "Steve.Manley@faa.gov. 3. C. 20591 Note: If sent U.S. Mail, please send confirming E-mail to verify mailing. The specifications are still being reviewed by FAA and are evolving documents. A third ADS-B Industry Day is planned for October 27, 2006. The agenda will concentrate on future acquisition milestones and a shopping list of evaluation criteria to be used for the upcoming screening information request leading to a downselect decision. The starting time is 9:00 A.M. The session is planned for ?? day and will conclude at noon. The address is: Bessie Coleman Conference room. Second Floor FAA Headquarters 800 Independence Avenue S.W. In addition, vendors without appropriate FAA identification will need to register their laptop computers with the security staff.
