- Amendment 1 was issued 8/31/06 with clarifications of plans specs and phasing. The United States Postal Service intends to award a fixed price construction contract for HVAC renovation of the Southern MD Processing and Distribution Facility (P&DC) in Capital Heights MD. The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all labor, equipment, and materials to upgrade the HVAC system in a phased schedule at the Southern MD P&DC per the attached drawings and specifications. This work includes new boilers, air handlers, VAV boxes, roof top package DX units, distribution, and bacnet compliant DDC controls. The scope also includes associated electrical systems work and incidental structural and architectural work with the total construction cost ranging from $9.8M to $10.8M. The contract will be accomplished in five phases with total period of performance of 540 days. A detailed scope of work for this project is included in the solicitation documents. This request for proposal is being issued only to prequalified contractors.
