- In accordance with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-76, dated May 29, 2003, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) announces an A-76 Standard Competition to provide Road Maintenance Services in the surrounding area of the Navajo Nation in New Mexico and Arizona. These functions are currently being performed by approximately 80 government full-time equivalents (FTE?s), supported by contracted data entry services and Memoranda of Agreement with local governments. The intent of the competition is to determine the most efficient and cost effective method of providing the road maintenance services. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Study will determine whether these services should be performed under a contract with commercial sources or through the federal work force. A Government proposal to provide these services is being developed and a contract may or may not result. The projected end date of the competition is September 15, 2007, with a solicitation scheduled to be issue around January 31, 2007. The solicitation date is subject to change and the solicitation will be synopsized in FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) prior to release. This announcement is not a solicitation and proposals are not requested at this time.
