Description
The purposed of this amendment is to provide answers to the submitted technical questions for Solicitation W9124R-06-T-0096. Technical Questions and Answers are as follows: Technical Q&A Solicitation W9124R-06-T-0096 Pre-Engineered Steel Building Question # 1- For what will the building be used? Will this be a regular workspace for people? Answer # 1- The building is going to be a general purpose facility for training exercises. Some of the uses MAY include: shield troops or equipment from exposure to elements, dining area (less kitchen), temporary equipment storage, tactical operations ce nter, classroom, briefing room, etc. Question # 2- Is the 14'H dimension the height of the peak or eave? Answer # 2-The 14' is the height of the walls (eave). Question # 3- What R-Value is required for insulation? Answer # 3- Minimum required R-Value is R-7 Question # 4- In the IBC 2003 code please identify the following: A. Classification of the Building - 1. Low hazard to human life 2. All others 3. Substantial hazard to human life 4. Essential facility B. Exposure Category - 1. Urban and suburban areas, wooded areas, or other terrain w/numerous closely spaced obstructions. 2. Open terrain w/scattered obstructions Answer # 4- IBC 2003 a. Building classification: Primary = 2 (all others), secondary = 1 (low hazard to human life) b. Exposure category: 2. Question # 5- Is there another structure within 20' of this one? If so where? How close? Do you have a drawing? Answer # 5-No other structures exists within 20' of the proposed building site. Question # 6-Will the building have heat and/or air conditioning? Answer # 6- Building will not have heating nor air conditioning at this time. Building may be outfitted by military environmental control units (ECUs) provided by units using this facility. When (if) funds become available, an HVAC system may be installe d later. Question # 7- What is the location of the rollup door? (End wall? Side Wall?) Answer # 7- Roll door is preferred at the end wall. Question # 8- Does the note at the bottom of the specifications indicate engineer stamped drawings are to be submitted as at the time the bid is submitted, or does it mean that the successful bidder will provide engineer stamped drawings as part of the pa ckage if they are awarded the contract? Answer # 8- Engineer stamped drawing are required per the specifications. Question # 9- Should the bid include labor for installation of the pre-engineered metal building. Answer # 9-The basic requirement is for the building kit (with instructions) only. Labor may be included as an additional service for informational purposes only. Question # 10- Is 120mph wind requirement in addition to current standard for the project area? IBC wind map indicates 90mph. Answer # 10- Due to the last wind storm damage and size of structure, we will like to retain a 120 MPH wind load rating. Question # 11- Can we verify snow load requirement. Yuma county up to 2000 feet is zero snow load. above that snow load is site specific. Answer # 11- Snow load = ZERO. Site elevation is approximately 427 feet above sea level. Question #12-Can we substitute 1/4 Solarguard Silver for the 1/4reflective double bubble foil insulation? The 1/4 Solarguard Silver is a double faced fiberglass system with a metalized laminate backer on both sides. It will provide similar insulation characteristics, higher flame retardant quality (as opposed to zero with the double bubble), and similar cost. Answer # 12- 1/4 Solar Guard Silver is an acceptable substitute for the double bubble insula tion. Question # 13- Specs indicate Galvalume siding 26ga. Is there a color choice for the walls, or is the whole building to be sheeted with Galvalume? Answer # 13- Roof color is Galvalume. Sides of building to be sand/tan or alike tone. Question # 14-Is our 29ga, non warranty white, liner panel adaquate, or do they require a different color liner panel? Answer # 14-White panel is acceptable. What do they mean with non-warranty white? Question # 15- Engineered stamped drawings will not be available prior to proposal turn-in date however we can submit proposed building design drawing in CAD/PDF format which can then be used for planning purposes. Is this acceptable? Answer # 15- Engineer stamped drawings are not required at this time but will be required as part of the building materials deliverables. Question #16- In the note section regarding the footing/foundation requirements, are the reactions, etc., the information that is required with the proposal? Preliminary reactions for the foundation design will available with our proposal. Is this accep table? Answer # 16- The existing slab will be modified to accommodate the recommended or required foundation specifications for structural members as specified on the engineer stamped drawings provided by the selected company. Question # 17-Is there any particular preference for framed openings? Answer # 17- Frame openings will be located as follows: 12'x12' roll door located center on end wall with a pedestrian door adjacent to it (left or right no preference. The second pedestrian door to be located on eave side close to opposite end wall. Fra ming should have flashing Question # 18-Will my bid for this solicitation still be considered? Answer # 18- All solicitations that respond and comply with the requirements specified in the CSS by the closing date of September 27, 2006 12PM MST will be considered for this requirement. Question # 19-Is this solicitation for a materials only purchase? Answer # 19-Bid is for materials and engineer stamped drawings. Question # 20-Is the exterior paint to be Siliconized polyester or Kynar? Answer # 20-Exterior paint finish not specific. Question # 21-Are there any drawings for this solicitations? Answer # 21- No drawings available NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (26-SEP-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
