- Description
- The Stevensville Ranger District of the Bitterroot National Forest anticipates soliciting for work on the Holloway Lake Trail #393. This project consists of reconstruction of existing trail, constructing new trail and construction of features on new and existing trail. The work includes construction of up to 105 feet of new trail; 8 rolling dips, 130 feet of ditch; 217 square feet of rock retaining wall. Waterbar construction includes 4 treated log waterbars, 9 native log waterbars and 69 rock waterbars. Obliteration of abandoned sections of trail totals 200 feet. Trail restoration will be completed on the full length of trail including tread reconstruction, brushing, miscellaneous rock removal, reconstruction of 1 rolling dip and 10 rock waterbars, and recutting down logs to cleared limits. The project includes logging out 7.25 miles of existing trail. The project does not require blasting, though it may be necessary in some sections of rocky ground for full bench tread.
