Description
INDUSTRY DAY FOR THE USMC Universal Rough Terrain Munitions Trailer THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION ISSUANCE. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ seeks to identify potential sources for the design, development, fabrication, and testing of a USMC Universal Rough Terrain Munitions Trailer (URTMT). The objective is to replace the current USMC A/M32K-4A Rough Terrain Trailer with a munitions trailer that is compatible with the MTVR MK 23, 25, 27, & 28 series tactical vehicles. The URTMT is to be a towed 15,000 lbs capacity trailer used to transport air launched weapons from a storage site to the aircraft flight line as part of the ground support equipment for the USMC expeditionary airfields. The URTMT is a four-wheel steerable trailer in accordance with SAE AS8090, Type V, Group C. The trailer?s overall dimensions are not to exceed 38 inches high (to deck) by 90 inches wide by 192 inches long. Other characteristics are 24V / 12V electrical system, air-over-hydraulics and hydraulic surge brake system, maximum speeds of 65 MPH highway and 10 MPH over rough terrain. The government will host an Industry Day on October 24, 2006 at Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland. The purpose is to familiarize potential sources with the URTMT requirements. The Government will provide an overview of the URTMT program and the pending solicitation. A formal question and answer period will follow. At least 10 days prior to the industry day, companies interested in attending are requested to provide the following; 1) Company name, address and phone number, 2) Name(s) and title of personnel attending, 3) social security number, 4) date of birth, 5) place of birth (city & state). This information should be emailed to Bob Thompson at charles.r.thompson@navy.mil with a copy to Bill Deeley at william.deeley@navy.mil. The subject line of your email response shall read: URTMT Industry Day. Attendees should plan to arrive between 0830 and 0900. Industry Day will begin at 0900. This announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or commitment of any kind.
