Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The reference number is W91QF2-06-T-0016 and is issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-12. This acquisition will be awarded as a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and is being conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12- Commercial Items and in conjunction with FAR 13-Simplified Acquisitio n Procedures, 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Solicitation incorporates by reference FAR 52.212-1, 52.212-3, 52.212-4, and 52.212-5, which may be located by visiting the world-wide web at http://www.arnet.gov/. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 8412 a nd the small business size standard is 500. The contractor shall provide Museum Exhibit Cases as follows: 0001: 1 ea. Exhibit Case, Pedestal Case with lift-off vitrine, 0002: 1 ea. Exhibit Case, Table Case with inclined top and flush base, 0003: 1 ea. Ex hibit Case, Pedestal Case with Sliding Door, 0004: 1 ea. Delivery Costs, 0005: 2 ea. Table Case with Flush Pedestal Case, Display Case features frameless, full visibility construction with clear white, laminated glass (safety glass/ UV filtering). See Scop e of Work, 0006: 2 ea. Fiber Optic Lighting (Table Case with Flush Pedestals) Fiber Optic Lighting System must include light guides, output optics, light source, and required components. 007: 1 ea. Long Table Case with Flush Pedestal Base. Display Case fea tures frameless, full visibility construction with clear white, laminated glass(safety glass/UV filtering). Glass hood is permanently set within a metal frame that locks to and is supported by the table base; legs include levelers. Glass hood is hinged a nd opens with the assistance of a pair of pneumatic lifters concealed beneath the frame. 0008: 1 ea. Fiber Optic Lighting (Long Table Case w/flush Pedestal), Fiber Optic Lighting System must include light guides, output optics, light source and required co mponents. 0009: 1 ea. Pedestal Case w/sliding door, Display Case features frameless, full visibility construction with clear white, laminated glass(safety glass/UV filtering). Glass vitrine sits atop a pedestal base. Consists of one(1) operable sliding/r emovable panel, three (3) fixed glass sides and glass top. The interior display platform is removable, constructed of formaldehyde-free materials and wrapped in our standard fabric or COM. 0010: 1 ea. Fiber Optic Lighting (Pedestal Case w/sliding door), Fiber Optic Lighting System must include light guides, output optics, light source and required components. 0011: 1 ea. Fiber Optic Lighting, This will be incorporated into the cases for the original PR. Fiber Optic Lighting System must include light gu ides, output optics, light source and required components. 0012: Shipping FOB Destination. Statement of Work is as follows: Cases No. 4 Table Case (53L x 47W x 20H; Base 35, Glass Hgt. 12) w/fiber optic lighting, Case No. 5 Table Case (60L x 62D x 24H; Base 32, Glass Hgt. 30) w/fiber optic lighting Case No. Long Table Case (76L x 52W x 30H; Base 32, Glass Hgt. 20) w/fiber optic lighting. Exhibit cases is to be manufactured to a museum or archival quality with approved materials, tight seal and proven methods of construction. Successful bidde r to possess specific technical expertise and proven ability in the manufacture of exhibit furnishings of archival quality. Exhibit furnishings to be capable of maintaining a tight seal, regardless of access requirements for humidity control and dust resi stance. Display space to be tightly sealed when closed permitting no more that on air-exchange per every ten days. All Cases must have state of the art fiber-optic lighting. Fiber Optic Lighting System must include light guides, output optics, light source and required components. Glass case construction to be without frames, visibly obtrusive hardw are, mullions, or vertical posts for unimpeded view. Vertical glass edges to be precision mitered and sealed with an inert continuous sealno butt glazed corners, applied seals or gaskets acceptable. Manufacturer to assure availability of additional case s, replacement parts and accessories for a 15-year period. Manufacturers to offer one year warranty, minimum. Vendor must submit list of at least three (3) references and examples of exhibition case installations of similar scope and complexity in major museums, universities, libraries or other relevant projects with references, details, and photographs.
