Description

The U.S. Maritime Administration has a requirement to upgrade the Maine Maritime Academy's STATE OF MAINE training ship's automation system in the engine room and on the bridge. Due to funding constraints, the project will be incrementally funded over a period of two fiscal years. The initial Phase I award will be for the Machinery Monitoring and Alarm System, Engineers Watch Call System and Tank Level Indicating System. The following fiscal year, optional Phase II will consist of the Main Engine Controls, Electric Motor Propulsion Controls, Main Propulsion Controls including Controllable Pitch Propeller Systems. The Contractor shall provide/furnish labor, material, and equipment necessary to complete the entire work requirement. Work is to be performed pierside at the vessels berth at the Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, ME. A complete solicitation will be posted to this website on or about October 13, 2006. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
