Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center - Panama City, Florida intends to solicit General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Inc., 1400 Key Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22209-1518 on a sole-source basis for Phase Two of the development of the Protector System. Phase One initiated in FY 05 as a part of NSWC PC’s support of Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration and the integration of the General Dynamics Protector System. The Phase One contract was awarded through the Defense Microelectronics Activity. While GDAIS provided multiple technologies for Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) during the Integrated Technology Demonstration (ITD-4), one has been identified as key for further development, integration and testing. This technology, based upon GDAIS expertise in bio-aerosol sampling, detection and identification, is the focus of the Protector Phase Two effort as a follow-on development to Phase One. Phase Two will continue to improve network and sen! sor integration. The main focus will be to further integrate the systems developed by GDAIS into the DTRA SensorNet testbed, thereby providing: 1) More capabilities integrated into DTRA’s SensorNet; 2) More proof of the SensorNet open architecture approach; 3) Further identification, development and refinement of the SensorNet insterface(s) required to support homeland security initiatives (i.e., BioWatch), and; Testing of innovative bio-detection technologies in support of force protection. The General Dynamic’s PROTECTOR system is proprietary and does not currently support Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that would allow other vendors to interface to this system, but APIs are an objective of the tasking associated with this contract. Delivery will be the Naval Support Activity - Panama City, Receiving Officer, Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7018. NAICS Code 334511 applies. Size standard is 750 Employees. FSC is 6350. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (14-JUN-2006).
