- The U.S. Department of State Office of Acquisition Management (A/LM/AQM) intends to issue a Sole Source Award to National Office Systems, Inc. Gaithersburg, MD for the acquisition of a Weapons Accountability and Armory Inventory Management System (WAAIMS) which includes software, installation and training services. National Office Systems, Inc. is the the sole provider of the WAAIMS software package and licensing needed to meet the requirement. The procurement of this unique software will improve security for the movement of weapons systems within the Bureau of Diplomatic Security?s Defensive Equipment and Armored Vehicles Division. This procurement will be executed by a Purchase Order to cover all costs associated with software, installation and training services. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1). FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and other supplies or services will satisfy the agencys requirements.
