Description

DESCRIPTION: This contract is for the reroofing with asphalt shingles of 2 buildings containing approximately 17,154 square feet. Approximately 25% of the plywood decking and 40 linear foot of facia boards shall be replaced on the Erambert Pole Shed. Replace the aluminum soffits, fascia, and gutters that are damaged on the Ashe Cold Storage Building. Contractor is responsible for making all measurements and investigating all structural conditions to ensure exactly the materials required for this project. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with specifications and provisions of the contract. All building construction shall be in accordance with the requirements of the International Building Code. GOVERNMENT COST ESTIMATE: Between $25,000 and $100,000. LOCATION: Project for the shingle roof construction of Ashe Cold Storage Building is located at the Ashe Nursery, on the De Soto National Forest, approximately 2.5 miles south of Brooklyn, MS on Road 308. The Erambert Pole Shed is located at Erambert Seed Orchard, on the De Soto National Forest, approximately 12 miles east of Brooklyn, MS on County Road 29. Project is on the DeSoto Ranger District, National Forests in Mississippi, Forrest & Perry Counties, Mississippi. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Contract time will be 60 days from the effective date of the Notice to Proceed. SITE VISIT: The date, time and location of a formal site visit, if scheduled, will be in the solicitation that will post to this site. CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS: Contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry and must have completed a profile in the Online-Representations and Certifications database prior to award of a contract. Registration may be completed on the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov/. Vendors must also be registered in ORCA (Online Representations and Certifications) prior to contract award, and may accomplish this on the Internet at http://www.bpn.gov. You must be registered in CCR and have an MPIN number before you can begin ORCA registration. SET-ASIDE: None. This project will be issued subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and will be available for FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION. NAICS code is 238160. BONDING INFORMATION: Bid bond will be required (see solicitation for details); successful contractor will be required to furnish appropriate payment and performance bonds in accordance with FAR regulations prior to issuance of the Notice to Proceed. SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS: Solicitation AG-447U-S-06-0121LI and related documents will be issued via FedBizOpps as a Request for Proposals and will be available for downloading on or about August 3, 2006 at the website address: http://www.fedbizopps.gov/.
