- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO: Motorola, U.S. Federal Government Markets Division, 7031 Columbia Gateway Drive, 3rd Floor, Columbia, Md. 21046 provide System maintenance to the US Marine Corps Rapid Response Systems (RRS) located at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Ca. under the AUTHORITY OF FAR 13.501(a)(1). The Regional Contracting Office, Southwest (RCO SW), Camp Pendleton, California intends to award a firm-fixed price contract to above named company. The value of this award is estimated to be under $65,000.00. The purpose of this action is to provide Motorola Maintenance Support to the Rapid Response System and to ensure the system remains functional to meet operational requirements. The RRS is configured with Motorola proprietary hardware and software Application Program Interfaces (APIs) that operate within Motorola specifications, standards, and parameters. Additionally, Motorola manufactured the RRS and holds exclusive validation and verification rights to any planned modification, upgrade, or maintenance service support initiatives in that any and all upgrades or contracted maintenance service support initiatives must conform to Motorola proprietary standards. As such, Motorola is the only commercial vendor that can provide the level of proprietary maintenance service support required to keep the RRS operational for an additional year. The anticipated award date is 25 September 2006. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. This notice is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice.
