Description
The Air Force Research Laboratory, Air Vehicles Technology Directorate (AFRL/VAC), intends to solicit and negotiate with Lockheed Martin for research and development pertaining to automatic collision avoidance technology (ACAT) program, under the authority of FAR 6.302. The contractor will provide research in: a) initiating a risk reduction program to refine the requirements for, and integrate, automatic collision avoidance systems into F/A aircraft; b) establishing overarching and top-level functional requirements for automatic collision avoidance systems; c) directing the services to integrate ACAT capabilities in F-22A, F-35, F-16, and F/A-18 aircraft, and, d) integrating manual systems into platforms where automated systems are not practical. This notice is for informational purposes only. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). Contractors capable of offering this technology must respond within 15 days after publication of this notice by submitting a specific capability statement to provide this technology. All responses received within 15 days after publication of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
