Description
This notification is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/SOURCES SOUGHT, for market research purposes. This is NOT an actual Solicitation/RFP. The U.S. Department of State is seeking information and supply sources capable of providing laptops with built-in biometric and smart card support, from Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) sources. The laptops must consist of (i) An internally integrated fingerprint biometric reader capability, and (ii) an internally integrated ISO/IEC 7816-3 and Personal Computer / Smart Card (PC/SC) compliant contact-based smart card reader capability. Integrated biometric and smart card components must be compliant with all current National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and related recommendations for Federal agencies, especially in relation FIPS 201 and it?s supporting applicable NIST Special Publications (i.e., SP 800-96, SP 800-73-1, and SP 800-76). Laptops should contain a licensed Windows XP OS with the potential to support Windows Vista. Laptops should have an Intel 1.86GHz or greater processor, random access memory of greater or equal to 512 MB, hard disk storage of greater or equal to 80 GB, integrated network port, USB 2.0, parallel printer Interface, a display screen of 17 or greater, and CD ROM Read/Write capability for back-up of data. The manufacturer or its representative will provide any scheduled service maintenance, including program upgrades for a period of 5 years. The manufacturer or its representative will maintain service and repair of all system parts for a period of 5 years upon completion of delivery. Maintenance includes all parts and labor. Any proprietary information contained in the capability statement must be marked accordingly. Interested sources may submit brief capability statements signed by a corporate official with authority to bind the company and verify that the company can provide laptops and specifications identified herein. Statements shall be prepared and submitted at no cost to the Government (Government will not reimburse vendors for preparation of capability statements). Statements shall not exceed five (5) pages, and shall NOT contain any cost or pricing information. Statements are due ten (10) calendar days after this RFI notice has posted on the FedBizOps website.
