Description
SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOUCE PROCUREMENT DESC: Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Governments intent to award a sole source to Roche Diagnostics Corporation, for purchase of Roch LightCycler 480 and software. This sy stem must be purchased from Roche Diagnostics Corporation since the equipment is the only 96-will format intrument that is both capable of rapid thermocycling based on a comprehensive improvement of the peltier-based block technology with exceptional well- to-well temperature homogeneity and maximized inter-well, inter-cycle reproducibility alon with the capability of detecting multiple probe chemistries used in the DSD labs (SYBR Green I, TaqMan, TaqMan-MGD, Exlipse probes, HybProbes and SimpleProbes). Roc he Diagnostics Corporation is the only company who can provide this LightCycler 480 System, since it use of technology for real-time PCR is unique to Roche and has been exlusively licensed and use patent has been filed. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the purchase will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
