- The U.S. Army's Product Manager for Crew Served Weapons, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is interested in acquiring information on commercially available trigger block safety kits to retrofit M2 .50 caliber machine guns. The goal of this market survey is to identify existing available trigger block safeties for M2 machine guns with possible future procurements as modified non-developmental item (NDI). Specific areas of interest include but are not limited to: Ease of installation on all current M2 machine guns, positive safe and fire positions, operation with Mission Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) and cold weather clothing, corrosion resistance, adverse environmental conditions, and chemical resistance. Any trigger block safety kit shall be compatible with existing weapon systems and ancillary equipment, including ammunition containers and attached sighting/targeting devices. Interested parties are invited to indicate their interest by providing some or all of the following: specifications, brochures, manuals, demonstration videos, and identification of current customers.
