Description
CANCELLATION NOTICE: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, in conjunction with FAR 13.5, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 20024575 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 05-09. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 332995 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This requirement is unrestricted and only interested offerors may submit a quote. The solicitation pricing on www.FedBid.com will start on the date this solicitation is posted and will end on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 14:00:00 Eastern Time or as otherwise displayed at www.FedBid.com. FOB Destination shall be Chula Vista, CA 91914 The DHS-Customs and Border Protection requires the following items, MEET OR EXCEED, to the following: LI 001, Ready to eat meals are to be mobile self-contained and prepackeaged, shelf stable, self heating. Packaging is to be in heavy paper stock box. Each dinner entree is to be 12 ounces or larger, fully cooked and and shelf stable in a sealed food tray container. All entrees are to have a shelf life of 18 to 24 months, with no refrigeration required. Each entree needs to contain a utensil pack that includes a spoon, napkin, salt&pepper with a no-salt seasoning packet. A flameless, water activated,non-toxic and biodegradable food heater. Food heater must be able to raise the food temperature of meals contents (inside food tray container) by at least 100 degrees fahrenheit(from ambient temperature) within 10 minutes after starting food heater. Packet of water to start food heater is to be enclosed in each package. Each case to contain 12 meals, with "use by"date stamped on each meal and on the outside of case. Please include a variety of dinners. All meals are not to contain more than 2.1 milligrams of salt per gram of food. Meals will not be delivered at one time. FAILURE TO PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION WILL RESULT IN A 'NON RESPONSIVE' BID AND REMOV AL FROM AWARD CONSIDERATION. , 1900, CS; LI 003, Option year 1: October 1, 2007 - September 30, 2008, 1, EA; LI 004, Option year 2: October 1, 2008 - September 30, 2009, 1, EA; LI 005, Option year 3: October 1, 2009 - September 30, 2010, 1, EA; For this solicitation, DHS-Customs and Border Protection intends to conduct an online competitive reverse auction to be facilitated by the third-party reverse auction provider, FedBid, Inc. FedBid has developed an online, anonymous, browser based application to conduct the reverse auction. An Offeror may submit a series of pricing quotes, which descend in price during the specified period of time for the aforementioned reverse auction. DHS-Customs and Border Protection is taking this action in a an effort to improve vendor access and awareness of requests while expediting its ability to gather multiple, completed, real-time offers. All responsible Offerors that respond to this solicitation MUST submit the pricing portion of their offer using the online exchange located at www.FedBid.com. There is no cost to register, review procurement data or make an offer on www.FedBid.com. Offerors that are not currently registered to use www.FedBid.com should proceed to www.FedBid.com to complete their free registration.
