Description

The following notice and the modification to this notice are being cancelled in their entirety. Brookhaven National Laboratory, Procurement and Property Management Division, Upton, NY intends to award a sole source contract to Institut fur Angewandte Physik (Institute for Applied Physics), University of Frankfurt, Frankfurt, Germany under the authority that only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy Brookhaven National Laboratory requirements. The objective of the resultant contract is to design and manufacture an Interdigital-H (IH) type Linac for the acceleration and focusing of low energy, light and heavy ions. The IH Linac will provide high transmission efficiency of beam, have low transverse emittance growth, and small energy spread of the output beam. The structure will be a single cavity and designed for a fixed output velocity independent of the q/m of the input beam by adjusting the cavity input rf power. A copy of the specfications which contains the design and performance requirements is available upon written request to any business which believes that they can provide the requirements contained herein. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed-price contract. If there are any businesses that can provide the specified requirement, they must respond to this notice before 4:00 pm (Eastern time) on September 22, 2006 with objective data showing past performance information and previous contracts on similar work. All objective data provided by businesses who believe they can provide these requirements will be evaluated to determine their technical ability to perform and satisfy the needs of Brookhaven National Laboratory.
