Original Notice: This is a Request for Information (RFI) by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Director?s Office (DIRO) regarding the DARPA 50th Anniversary Commemorative Display project. This project will highlight 50 years of DARPA?s technological achievements and will be featured at the 25th DARPATech in August 2007. The DARPA 50th Anniversary Commemorative Display Project will demonstrate DARPA?s accomplishments in the last 50 years. The display will feature historically relevant artifacts loaned by contributors and consisting of, but not limited to, proof of concept vehicles and devices, prototypes, film footage, photographs, sound recordings, models, and documents created by and for DARPA programs. Instructions to Responders: Responders interested in loaning items to the display should provide a description of the display item(s). The item(s) must have been produced in conjunction with a DARPA-sponsored program before 2004. Do not send originals of the item. Responses must consist of a nonproprietary description and a photograph of the item when appropriate. Please include points of contact (name(s), address(es), phone and fax numbers, and email addresses). The description should include the dimensions (i.e., weight, height, length as appropriate) of the item; its intended function; its technological impact; the date on which it was produced; and the names of the program, program manager (if known), and DARPA program office under which it was created. Photographs submitted for this RFI will only be used to determine the suitability of the item for inclusion in the display and, unless requested, will not be returned. DARPA does not intend to award any type of award instrument based on responses to this RFI, or otherwise provide compensation for the information solicited. Any information submitted in response to this RFI is provided voluntarily. This RFI is open to any source, including but not limited to universities, private or public companies, Government laboratories, and Government research establishments. DARPA will acknowledge receipt of information received and may provide feedback to respondents with respect to information submitted under this RFI. Responses should be submitted in a commonly used electronic format via email to DARPA50thanniversary@darpa.mil. Responses are due no later than 4:00pm EST, October 2, 2006. It is anticipated that review of RFI responses will be completed by November 6, 2007. Due to the possibility of errors, the official FedBizOpps announcement takes precedence over this transcription in any disagreement between the two.
