- SUMP PUMP PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION AT LAKE WHITNEY TEXAS (THE ENTIRE SOLICITATION/SPECIFICATIONS CAN BE FOUND AT WWW.FEDTEDS.GOV) This is a 100% Small Business set-aside. The NAICS is 238220, and the size standard is $13M. Please submit offers via email at sheila.garrett@swf02.usace.army.mil or via fax at 817-886-6403. OFFERS ARE DUE NOT LATER THAN 21 SEPT 2006 at 11 AM CST. The Contractor shall supply and operate all items necessary to provide complete and reliable Sump Care of Water throughout the duration of the project. This effort shall be coordinated with the Government to include and provide for special pumping conside rations. The Contractor is advised that this responsibility could require the work of a diver. Due to generating requirements, there is a limited amount of time that the turbines can be shut down to provide access to the draft tubes. If the Contractor c hooses to block the draft tube drains to accomplish valve replacement in the sump, a request for a scheduled outage must be submitted to the Corps of Engineers no less than 30 calendar days before the outage. 1.3.3 Pumps: (a) The Contractor shall remove two (2) existing 4-inch, type SSV pumps manufactured by Economy Pumps, Inc. together with all motors, drive linkages and associated piping located within the sump area and replace with two (2) new 4-inch vertical turbine pum ps. Replacement shall include assembly of all components and connections to new piping systems as necessary. The Contractor shall remove existing and provide new level controls as described elsewhere in these specifications. New 4-inch pumps shall be Fa irbanks-Morse 10B-5STG or equal vertical turbine pumps capable of delivering 300 GPM at 90-feet of head (TDH) and shall include flanged columns with shafting, discharge head, stuffing box, head shaft, basket strainer, fabricated steel set-down plates, sole plates, epoxy paint, start-up and commissioning by factory authorized personnel. (b) The Contractor shall disassemble 1 existing 12 inch turbine pump manufactured by Peerless Pumps, Inc. The existing pump shall be cleaned and prepared for joint inspection by Contractor and Government personnel. As determined by the results of the ins pection, the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) will direct the Contractor to proceed as follows: Option 1: The Contractor shall perform any necessary repairs using new parts, re-assemble pump and components, and return pumping system to operating condition. Option 2: The Contractor shall remove the existing pump and associated components and replace with a new pump and components. New pump shall be a 12-inch vertical turbine pump capable of delivering 3500 GPM at 66-feet of head. Replacement shall include f langed columns with shafting, discharge head, stuffing box, head shaft, basket strainer, epoxy paint, assembly of all components and connections to new piping systems as necessary, and start-up and commissioning by factory authorized personnel.
