Description

The US Army R.D.E.C.O.M, Natick Contracting Division, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with DJ Orthopedics LLC of Vista, CA, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, as well as FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) Supplies may be deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of a follow-on contract. A quantity of 104 each, first generation Size Small, Right and Left Jump Braces; 780 each, first generation Size Medium, Right and Left Jump Braces; 156 each, first generation Size Large, Right and Left Jump Braces. A quantity of 104 each, second generation Size Small, Right and Left Jump Braces; 780 each, second generation Size Medium, Right and Le ft Jump Braces; and 156 each, second generation Size Large, Right and Left Jump Braces. DJ Orthopedics has assumed ownership of Aircast LLC of Summit, NJ. Aircast has successfully manufactured and delivered over 5000 small, medium and large jump braces o ver a period of 14 months. In that time, Aircast incorporated many of their own approved design and safety changes to meet the needs of our soldiers in the field. Substantially lowering the rate of accidents prior to the soldiers utilizing these jump bra ces. This award to DJ Orthopedics will be for the continued production of the first generation jump braces. DJ Orthopedics will commence production on the second generation jump braces incorporating their own approved design and safety changes that resul ted from field testing.
