- ADVANCED 800 GB DISK PACKS Solicitation Number FA8601-06-T-0209. The proposed contract is for commodities for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). The proposed source is DRS Recording Technologies. The items being purchased are six each Advanced 800 GB Disk Packs. The government anticipates a sole source award to DRS Recording Technologies for the following reason: The required items are proprietary to DRS. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
