Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation notice. This announcement serves as the only solicitation and no further Request for Quotes (RFQ) will be issued. Please see the uploaded file for all system and functional requirements pertaining to this acquisition. The U.S. Department of Education (ED), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) has a requirement for the development and implementation of a Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS) to be used in conjunction with the Department's intranet platform EDNet to detect and disapprove any unauthorized wireless devices or networks. EDNet currently forbids the installation or use of wireless networks without the permission of the EDNet Director of Security and Reliability Assurance. In the event that a rogue wireless device attempts to connect or bridge EDNet, the WIPS must be designed in such a way to actively alert EDNet Security Operations team members of the threat so that appropriate actions can be taken to prevent intrusion. Period of Performance: Twelve months from the date of contract award (Warranty Support). All offerors responding to this RFQ must posses the capability to meet all functional, system, and customer requirements as stated in the uploaded Wireless Network Detection document to be eligible for award consideration. The date of delivery for the ED customized WIPS system will be within 30 days from date of award. All interested offerors must submit quotes in writing to the identified point of contact via email no later than the close of business September 22, 2006 EST.
