Description

The Government intends to procure a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis with GE Security Quantum Magnetics, Inc. of San Diego, CA who is the current provider of required safety support services for Postal Operations Division, Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Detachment, Washington, DC. The purchase order will provide maintenance renewal on two (2) Q-Scans explosive detection devises which includes telephone support, on site inspections, defective parts replacement and preventive maintenance. The performance period for the resulting purchase order will be from date of award through one year. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561621. The statutory authority for pursuing this action on a sole source basis is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. There is only one responsible source able to provide the necessary services and no other item will satisfy agency requirements. The solicitation and any subsequent amendments will only be available by downloading the documents at http://www.neco.navy.mil or http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Potential offerors are hereby notified that the solicitation and any subsequent amendments will only be available for download at the above sites; this office will no longer issue hard copy solicitations. By submitting a offer, the contractor will be self certifying that neither the requestor nor the principle corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to so represent may be grounds for refusing to accept the quote. By submission of a quote, the offeror acknowledges that a prospective awardee must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award, during performance of the order and through final payment of the purchase order. Failure to register in the CCR may make an offeror ineligible for award. Offerors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 1-888-227-2423, or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. The solicitation will be posted on or about 14 September 2006 and close on or about 20 September 2006. Number note 22 applies.
