Description

The Contractor shall furnish all labor and equipment as needed to repair White Gate Trail slide at Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County, CA. The trail was severely impacted by heavy rain during January 2006 and had a 20' x 20' x 20' slide, requiring a large portion of soil to be removed from the trail. Repairs of this project will include: Grade or smooth access road to White Gate Trail for equipment access if needed; At side, excavate a temporary access road to toe of slide area; excavate keyway approximately 30' in length (depth of keyway will be based on refused or component soil); Keyway rip rap size approx 1 ton, wall rip rap size approx 1/2 ton, approx tonnage 264 of rip rap and additional approx of chinking rock to lock rip rap in place and fill voids. In the slide area, grade existing road with approx 2 percent inboard slope and excavate v ditch approx 300' to contain all surface water and spring water to existing pond. The project cost is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. All work shall be completed within a 45 day time-frame prior to the onset of seasonal rains.
