- This notice will serve as notification of a Sole Source solicitation for the following: The USAFA, 98th FTG has a Sole Source Brand requirement to purchase an additional Portable Digital Altitude Test Chamber (FXC P/N 711-07146-23) used for testing the FXC Model 12000 Automatic Activation Device (AAD) during specified testing cycles. The USAFA, 98th Flying Training Squadron is the ?School House? of Free Fall Parachuting for the Air force. AM-490 is the only program in the world that trains students for an unassisted first jump free fall. The FXC Corporation Model 12000 AAD is the only mechanical AAD that is approved by AFI 11-410, USAFA Supplement and is readily available on the commercial market. USAFA previously purchased this item under Purchase Order #FA7000-05-0441, dated 21 September 2006. This will be a firm Fixed Price contract. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This procurement is for the acquisition of a sole source commercial item using simplified procedures in accordance with FAR Parts 12 & 13. FAR provisions 52.212-3-Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items and 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items apply. In addition, the clause at 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders--Commercial Items, apply to this acquisition. Additional FAR clauses cited in the clause applicable to this acquisition are: (b) 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, and 31. DFARS 252.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes of Executive Orders applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The following clause is included as an addendum: Department of Defense FAR Supplement 252.204-7004, Required Central Contractor Registration. You are reminded to refer to FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items, regarding Solicitation Amendments.
