Description
The Miami VAMC is soliciting proposals to provide space for a 60 bed Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (DRRTP). Award will be based on Technical, Past Performance, and Price. Location will carry more weight when scoring the technical evaluation. Location being requested is from North Broward County to South Miami/Dade County. The desired location of the DRRTP should be within the following boundaries: Broward Blvd (North), Route 1 (West Side), SW 8th street (South), Boundary of Dade/Broward county, Between Broward Blvd and SW 8th street (West). The DRRTP is designed to function as a long-term (3 to 6 months) residential rehabilitation program for _at risk_ veterans in order to promote the development of new skills and attitudes needed to live independently in the community. The program will provide the following services: -Vocational Rehabilitation. -Training in community skills. -Treatment of physical and mental health problems including substance abuse. These services will be provided in the Domiciliary and also be supplemented by the VAMC Miami or its outpatient clinics. The building should be between approximately 25000sf and 32000sf and be capable of housing 60 veterans (double occupancy). Apartments need to be fully furnished and building needs to be handicap accessible. Building is required to meet all NFPA Fire, Safety, and ADA Codes. Building needs to be able to be renovated by the VA in order to be able to connect telecommunications closets and other required services. Laundry facilities need to be on-site. Building needs to be close to public transportation. Property needs to be fenced in. Property owner/management is responsible for lawn services, maintenance of building and property. The space should provide the following: 30 - two bedroom apartments 12 private offices 2 exam rooms 1 large group room 2 small group rooms 1 conference room 1 medication storage room 1 supply/copy/fax room 1 laundry room 1 general storage room 20 parking spaces
