Description
SUBJECT: LOG 132 For Contractors -- 1. The 542d Combat Sustainment Wing, in cooperation with HQ AFMC/A4BW, is sponsoring a class for personnel from defense contractors who perform repair work for the Air Force. Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) conducts LOG 132 for Air Logistic Centers (ALC) employees to instruct them in the repair business. One week of that class is spent at a contractor's facility learning about repairs from their perspective. Our class is the reciprocal course. We invite you to participate in our LOG 132 For Contractors from 24 to 26 October 2006. -- 2. This class is designed to help contractors understand the process that the ALC goes through in order to obtain a repair contract. Material we concentrate on include preparing budgets for future workloads, managing performance based contracts, managing assets, and determining what work stays organic and what goes out on Contract. According to the feedback we received from our earlier classes, those who will benefit the most are program managers, contract administrators, order administrators, and business development people. -- 3. We believe this course will benefit your company greatly. We also hope you will see the vision we have of cross training our respective repair administrators so that we can work more smoothly in the future. If this sounds like something you are interested in, please CONTACT BILL SIRMON at 478-926-5625 or bill.sirmon@robins.af.mil on or before 10 Oct 2006. -- Original signed by -- KENNETH T.
