Description
The 12th Contracting Squadron at Randolph AFB intends to award a contract for the purchase of 20 Hobart Model GPU-400 rectifiers. This is a Brand Name Requirement in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1(c) Application for brand name descriptions . The Brand Name Justification is as follows: Purchasing Hobart rectifiers eliminates the need to purchase additional parts, hardware or special test equipment since this is the type of rectifier used on Randolph AFB. The Hobart GPU-400 is the only rectifier that meets the size limitations to allow for the 10-foot clearance after being positioned on the flight line. The rectifier also provides the only adequate amperage for T-6 Aircraft starting. Award will be made in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13.5 using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 and 13.5, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being accepted and a written solicitation will not be issued. Reference number F3P3D16226A100 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This combined synopsis/solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-22&23. The SIC Code is 3629, the NAICS code is 335999, and the size standard is 500 employees. Award is anticipated on 19 September 06. Interested persons may express their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals within (12) calendar days after date of publication of this notice of intent.
