Description
Program Executive Office Simulation Training and Instrumentation and U.S. Army Aviation Technical Test Center are interested in requesting information for the System Test and Integration Laboratory / Crew Station Interface (STIL/CSI) programs which will be used to test military helicopters and other air platforms. This market research effort is to assess the capabilities and maturity of systems and technology to support the Army Aviation STIL/CSI facility in support of the Army Aviation Transformation. The program will be briefed at the Developmental Test Command (DTC) Test Technology Symposium 2006 (TTS 06), Sep 12-13, Las Vegas NV, (http://www.dtc.army.mil/events.html). Interested industry vendors may attend and schedule pre-arranged meetings with the government sponsors. Interested parties are also encouraged to submit white papers on potential areas of expertise related to the program. A description of the program is provided below. The STIL will immerse aircraft, its systems and aircrew; in a controlled, repeatable and distributed virtual environment which replicates today?s battlefield and enables collaborative system of systems testing with other Army and DOD facilities. The STIL will be a testing and integration lab used for the stimulation, simulation, and integration of all hardware in the loop testing of on/off platform aviation electronic components and/or complete systems as part of modernization of Army aircraft. The STIL will provide capability in developmental testing, engineering, integration to include a virtual test environment integrating appropriate flight dynamics models to support all aircraft system both live and simulated. This capability provides a Crew Station Interface for various rotary wing platforms to determine optimum man-machine interfaces. Vendors proposing the most advanced near-term solutions or capabilities in support of the STIL/CSI will be contacted for demonstrations or additional information. POCs for the white papers are Dennis Schneider (dennis.j.schneider@us.army.mil) and Mark Music (mark.music@us.army.mil). All white papers should be submitted by email.
