- The due date for Solicitation VA-549-06-RP-0005, The Transitional Care Unit and Infrastructure (TCU) Project, has been changed from "not later than 2 p.m. Central Time on September 7, 2006" to now read "not later than 2 p.m. Central Time on September 13, 2006. THE NEW DUE DATE FOR SOLICITATION VA-549-06-RP-0005 IS NLT 2PM ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2006. Listed below is information relevant to this projec. 1. Project Funding- The TCU Expansion (Hospice Unit) is scheduled to be awarded NLT 30 Sep 2006. Due to available funding schedules, the TCU Utility Infrastructure option is scheduled to be awarded in the January 2007 through March 2007 timeframe. The contractor should make adjustments and considerations for the Utility Infrastructure Option award delay. 2. Fuel Tank and Generator--In the TCU Expansion (Hospice Unit) plans, sheet E4 there is a statement along the tank location 3,000 GALLON DIESEL STORAGE TANK INSTALLATION BY OTHERS FIELD VERIFY EXACT LOCATION. The bidding contractor is to be consider the removal of the existing tank, purchase and installation of the new fuel storage tank to be included in the TCU Expansion Unit bid. The plans also state on the generator site FUTURE SITE OF THE NEW 500 KW GENERATOR. The existing generator removal and purchase and installation of the new gererator are to be included in the TCU Utility Infrastructure option. 3. Utility access point information--On sheet E4 in the TCU Utility Infrastructure plans, there are denoted number 3 small electrical disconnect/hand holes/junction boxed and a statement advising the bidder to verify and address the utilities associated with the access points. The junction box along the wall of the building is an active telephone junction box tied to the adjacent signal vault in the turf. The hand hole on the north side of the road is a street lighting feeder from the existing electrical room to the hand hole and branches out to the street lights south and north of the TCU structure. One of the conduits leaving the hand hole is shallow and goes directly across the footprint of the new addition. This feeder is to be relocated out of the new addition foundation. The hand hole on the south side of the road is an irrigation valve. The other number 3 is a small electrical disconnect. This description is provided to give bidders an idea concerning the access points. Actual review of the area is recommended. 4. Systems Controls-Siemens controls are utilized in the Dallas VA Medical Center. New control devices must be comparable with the present system. 5. Temporary fuel tanks size--In the TCU Expansion Unit plans sheet E2 Number 9 describes the need for a 100 gallon temporary diesel storage tank. 6. On Page 12-04M under 1.3 Specifications and Drawings for Contractor (Applies to both Infrastructure and Transitional Care Unit: DELETE "After Award of Contract, 35 sets of specifications and drawings will be furnished. These drawings and specifications will consist of those returned by prospective bidders." The VA will not furnish 35 sets of specifications and drawings. The cost of furnishing the 35 sets of specifications and drawings should be factored into the contractor's bid.
