- This is a Request for Information (RFI)Only!!!!! The U.S. Department of State is conducting market research to determine the number of 8(a) firms who perform complete facilities preventive maintenance services in the following areas prime electrical/mechanical systems, elevator safety inspections and maintenance assistance (U.S. code safety upgrades), generator maintenance (and associated electrical equipment), condition monitoring (thermography, vibration analysis, and ultrasonics), infrared thermography (life safety inspections of buildings) , fire systems preventive maintenance (fire alarm preventive maintenance and testing as stated in NFPA 72 [National Fire Alarm Code'), and emergency repair (electrical system, generator, HVAC repairs, etc.). The 8(a) firms must have a Top Secret Facility Clearance or Interim Top Secret Facility Clearance and have or be capable of providing teams of preventive maintenance professionals who can travel up to 52 weeks per year to overseas locations worldwide. The 8(a) companies must either have or be able to provide a facility within a 30 mile radius of Washington, DC to house administrative and management support personnel for overseas preventive maintenance services.
