Description
This Federal Business Opportunity Announcement is notice that TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8 which includes 46 Military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming are initiating the standardization process for the product line of SAFETY INTRAVENOUS (IV) ACCESS. The intent of this standardization is to establish regionally preferred so urces for hospital supply items and to standardize purchasing of these products for the MTFs. Clinical Product Teams (CPTs) composed of healthcare workers who have expertise and knowledge of the products, will evaluate this product line. They will review and technically evaluate the products submitted. Their recommendation can be accomplished by literature review, presentation, demonstration, or clinical evaluation. Suppliers may be required to provide clinical samples at no cost to the government for th e evaluation. Vendors interested in having their products evaluated for possible inclusion in the standardization process should carefully review the stated requirements below. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS for SAFETY IV ACCESS include but are not limited to: 1) Does the vendor provide a full line of SAFETY IV ACCESS products? 2) Are the products latex free? 3) Are the products ava ilable in various sizes? 4) Are vendors products available through Cardinal, the regions medical-surgical Prime Vendor? 5) Is the vendor available to support in-service training for the clinicians evaluating the product? 6) If selected, is the vendor available for the entire region and to support in-service training for the entire region, i.e., all staff, all shifts? 7) Will the vendor provide volume discounts and support a return goods policy If your company currently holds a Distribution and Pric ing Agreement (DAPA) for the Medical-Surgical product line SAFETY IV ACCESS, your company is eligible to participate in this standardization effort for this region. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you may still be eligi ble to participate in this standardization effort for this region by contacting the Defense Supply Center, Philadelphia (DSCP), Ms. Kim Nichols at (215) 737-7124 or e-mail at Kim.Nichols@DLA.MIL to apply for a DAPA. Your company may be considered once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP. If your company can provide SAFETY IV ACCESS products, please forward literature of all items available from your company that meet the product descriptions above and any corresponding product literature no later than Septem ber 25, 2006. Those companies that do not reply by this date may be eliminated from consideration. To participate, contact Sarah L.
