Description
The security of Veterans Affairs (VA) critical information systems and the privacy of sensitive data depend upon the proper implementation of a standardized and comprehensive security configuration and management program for the entire enterprise. The NASA, SEWP, GWAC is the intended contract vehicle. No solicitation will be issued. The HIPS solution will adds a layer of defense at the application (host) level on every workstation and server with a HIPS agent installed. With the information HIPS collects the VA is positioned to provide an adequate incident response capability to marginalize threats to workstations and servers. The ISS Proventia HIPS software, already deployed in VA, integrates in to the VA ISS SiteProtector infrastructure. This SiteProtector infrastructure provides aggregate points of threat data not only from the HIPS software but from Network-based Intrusion Pevention Systems (NIPS) hardware devices at the enterprise gateways into the VA network. By leveraging the integration of these two security products, the VA-SOC is able to achieve a very high level of visibility into the administration?s enterprise security posture. Together, both tools provide two disparate layers of protection. Only the Proventia Desktop, Proventia Server, and RealSecure Desktop Protector software products can integrate with the currently deployed VA NIPS devices and SiteProtector Server Infrastructure. Venders that can offer an acceptable solution must submit their products functional capability to Jason.schoener@va.gov with copy to gary.arwood@va.gov by 1pm, central, 8.28.06. The Government will review your capability statement and respond by COB 8.28.06. No phone inquiries will be accepted all correspondence must be in writing, email is preferred. Please provide ISS, 200-163-06 in the subject line for submission of functional capability statements.
