Description
The purpose of this amendment is to post additional questions and answers in response to the original synopsis/solicitation for the RSATS range, Okinawa, Japan. 3.5.2 The system is going to require an air compressor as well as an air dryer, air coole r, oil remover, and fine particulate filter. Is there a location up range that this can be located as well as a shed to install it in There will also need to be several spare parts as well as tools that belong to the contractor that will need to be lef t on site for maintenance and warranty reasons. Will there be a secure location on site to store these items or will the contractor need to supply a connex type storage box? Answer: There will be a secure location on site available for the storage of sp are parts. However, any items necessary for the day-to-day operations of the range requiring secure storage shall be stored in a container or shed provided by the contractor. This range will be portable and the storage unit provided by the contractor shall be portable as well. 3.7. Determining warranty terms for these types of systems are a difficult task to deal with. The time frame for the life of the target system can not be based on a specific time, rather the number of cycles the system perfo rms. How many cycles can you expect to have on the system in a week, month, year? If the cycle warranty is 500,000, how much training is being done each day to reach that amount of cycles? It is realistic to have the cycle warranty be reached long befor e the term warranty is reached depending on how much training is being done? Answer: Cycles on this range are an unknown quantity at this time. Therefore, the warranty must be based on time. 3.12.1. Is there any leeway on the 14 days of site acces s? The installation should be complete in that time frame; the only variable would be delays that are out of the contractors hands. Such delays could be weather related, and freight related. In relation to the site, is there going to be concrete for the TD to perch on? Will the contractor be able to pour concrete for the TD to perch on? Will the site be prepped for the contractor, or is that the contractors responsibility? Answer: Yes, there is leeway on the 14 day period. A firm installation schedule will be negotiated at time of award and freight and/or weather delays will be taken into account. There will be no concrete for the TD and the contractor shall not pour concrete. The range shall be installed on the flat ground surface as is with no additio nal site preparation.
