- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) needs to procure One BladeRunner Opteron Server with 4TB of Storage with the following: 1) BladeRunner, Configurable Chassis 4120/30/40 (a) 4U (7?) Rackmount Chassis; (b) One 20-port (12 int/8 ext) Gigabit Ethernet Switches; (c) Integrated KVM; (d) Redundant 3+1 Power Supplies. BladeRunner 4140, AMD Opteron Basic Blade: 1) Dual AMD Opteron 270HE Processor (Dual Core); 2) 4GB Ultra Low-Profile PC3200 ECC DDR (2 x 2GB); 3) 80 GB, SATA, 5400 RPM; 4) Preload, Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES (v.4 for AMD64) Standard Edition 1 year. BladeRunner 4130, Intel Xeon 10 Expansion Blade: 1) Single 2.8GHz Intel Xeon Low Voltage w/EM64T, 1MB Cache, 800MHz FSB; 2) 4GB Low-Profile DDR-2-400 (2 x 2GB); 3) HBA, PMC, Fiber Dual port, SBS Technologies; 4) 40GB, SATA, 5400 RPM; 5) Preload, Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES (v.4 for EM64T) Standard Edition 1 year. Xyratex, NexStor 4711F SATA Enclosure: 1) 2U (3.5?), 12-Bay Fibre-SATA Chassis; 2) 350W Dual Redumdant Hot-Swap power Supply; 3) 2Gbit RAID Controller 512MB cache; 4) 4.0TB RAIDS Array/1 Hot Spare + 1 Cold Spare (comprised of qty 13 400GB 720RPM SATA Hard Drives); 5) Qty 2 Cables, Fibre channel, LC/LC, 2 meter; 6) Xyratex 3-Year Advanced Replacement Support for NexStor 4711F. This is set aside for small businesses. All small businesses that can provide the Government with the items listed above may request a copy of the Request for Quote (RFQ) in writing or by FAX to 301-480-8502 to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. It is anticipated that the RFQ NIH-NIDDK-06-994 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 22, 2006. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 775, Bethesda, MD 20817 Attention: Patricia Haun.
