Description
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is seeking contractors that can provide the following services. 1.) Regional economic impact modeling application - A regional economic impact modeling application that estimates the effects of industry shocks on a county by county basis for all U.S. counties. The application must take user entered shocks to sales, worker earnings, and employment for an industry or combination of industries in a county and generate estimates of total and indirect effects on county employment and worker earnings by industry. The application must be easy-to-use, web-based, and must be automatically updated as new data comes available. The underlying employment and earnings data must be no more than 6 months old at any point in time. It must use industry employment and earnings data detailed to the six-digit NAICS level. The industry employer universe must span nonfarm, farm, and government employers and be supplemented with private household employment and self-proprietors. Where original source data is suppressed for a county at a NAICS industry due to confidentiality restrictions, employment levels must be estimated. The application also must offer an easy means of examining county economic bases to the 6-digit NAICS industry employment level, evaluating employment trends from a recent base year (available from 2002 forward), and comparing county trends to national trends. 2.) Historical county-level industry employment data (must be consistent with regional modeling impact application) - We require the most timely, detailed, and complete industry employment data time series for each individual U.S. county dating from 1990 to the present. For analytical purposes, the data must match and be consistent with data in the chosen regional economic impact modeling application. The most recent data must be no more than 6 months old at any point in time. It must provide industry employment detail to the six-digit NAICS level. The employer universe must span nonfarm, farm, and government employers and be supplemented with private household employment and self-proprietors. Where original source data is suppressed for a county at a NAICS industry due to confidentiality restrictions, employment levels must be estimated. Employment data must be classified under NAICS for the entire time series. Contractors capable of providing this service must submit convincing documentation of their ability to provide the services described above. This information should be submitted to the Point of contact named below on/or before close of business Wednesday, August 30, 2006.
