Description
THE US ARMY AVIATION AND MISSILE COMMAND (AMCOM) PROPOSES TO BUY ON OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION SUBJECT SUPPLIES AND SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF THE CARGO HELICOPTER CH-47 T55/714A ENGINE PROGRAM. Honeywell Company is the designer and prime manu facturer of the CH-47 T55-GA-714A Engine. Only Honeywell has the technical expertise, proprietary drawings and demonstrated performance necessary to execute the US Army requirement. Due to the proprietary nature of the engineering data and drawings and t he required testing of the engines, award to any other source would fail to meet the fielding requirements established by the Department of the Army. Honeywell has the only significant Cargo engine experience, proprietary design rights, and possession of the necessary and existing special tools, test equipment/facilities and existing Cargo Engine production facilities. Production lead times for these items and services without first article is 180 days after contract. Firms who can produce any of the ite ms described above are encourage to identify themeselves. Firms are encourage to seek source approval in order to compete for future solicitations by accessing the web site www.redstone.army.mil/cmo/ and looking under CAPSAR and policy related to Source A pproval Request (SAR) for Aviation Requirements. The closing date annotating is an estimated date and may be adjusted dependent upon the date of the release of the solicitation. Foreign firms must be reminded that all request for solicitation must be pr ocessed thru their respective embassies. SEE NOTES 23 AND 26.
