Description
The US Army Office of the Project Manager Close Combat Systems (OPMCCS) is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources to produce M21, M22, M23 and M9 holder. The M21 and M23 minitubes consist of a length of minitube with an inline primer at one end attached to firing assembly Dwg. 8822504 and with a non- electric, non-delay blasting cap (outside diameter of 0.230 inch to 0.241 inch, length of 2.25 inch to 2.35 inch) attached at the other end with an output equivalent to a number 12 commercial blasting cap and must be capable of initiating composition C-4. Attached to the blasting cap shall be an easily removable M9 holder. The length of the minitube for the M21 shall be 500 feet minimum and for the M23 shall be 1000 feet minimum. The outside cross sectional area of the minitube for the M21 and the M23 shall be 0.0064 square inches, maximum. Minitubes are plastic conduits coated with a thin layer of reactive material on the inside walls. The M22 is an inert version of the M21 and shall physically represent the actual M21. The M9 holder shall be a black, plastic, connector capable of holding shock tubes and a blasting cap with an outside diameter of .241 inch maximum and length of 2.35 inch maximum. The M9 holder containing the blasting cap shall be capable of holding at least five other shock tubes, each with a nominal diameter of 0.118 inches. Each shock tube shall be held with a force of 20 pounds, minimum. Each one shall not exhibit any damage or degradation and shall function, initiated by the blasting cap held by the M9 holder. And have a one-handed assembly squeeze force not greater than 33 pounds. The M21, M23 & M22 Inert quantities will range from 1500 to 100000 units each, per year. The M9 quantities will range from 50,000 to 1,000,000 per year. The M21, M22, M23 and M9 will be built to a Government Furnished Performance Specification (Military Specification QAA-1430A, Dated 25 July 2006). Qualified and interested sources shall submit sufficient documentation to demonstrate their capability to meet the Government???s requirements. Interested parties which believe they can meet the above requirements shall provide the US Army a brief summary of their company's capabilities. Respondees should identify their current Business Structure: a. Name of Company ??? include a contact person's name, company address, telephone number, mail address. b. Company Size (please specify as either large, Foreign, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone concern, Veteran-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business.)Identify current major manufacturing processes, critical skills and equipment, current production capabilities (should include your maximum production rate attainable and minimum sustaining rate). Identify your organization's Facilities, Equipment, Unique Capabilities, Environmental Concerns, Storage,Shipping, Receiving and other Support Functions.
